Just 2 hours flight away from US and you find yourself in this magical place of Costa Rica.

A private shuttle picked us up and transfer to Samasati Nature Retreat near Puerto Viejo. The drive will took approx. 4 hours. We travelled through breathtaking views of Braulio Carriollo National Park, lands of Guapiles, the Carribean port town of Limon, many banana plantations and then the coastal road South by the beach of Cahuita to Puerto Viejo.

Part of day 2 yoga retreat involved a hike thru Cahuita National Park where we encountered howler monkeys, white face monkeys, iguana, a lizard they call Jesus for it's ability to walk on water, a yellow poisonous snake, sloths sleeping high in trees...AND for the adventure of it---we ate some termites!!!( they do not taste like chicken! But not bad-- kind of organic tasting) Costa Rica--a nature lovers paradise...and I am in great company!

DAY 3 Om- Odyssey Yoga Retreat included morning yoga in a beautiful setting followed by a visit to Jaguar Animal Sanctuary.. A place where injured or abandoned native animals are treated, heal and released. There are a lot of sloths here of various stages in their life..I had visions of holding and playing with baby sloths and monkeys...We learned why this is never a good idea when the goal is to prepare them to return to the wild. Also during our visit we encountered caimans, deer, tree frogs, a wild pig, and a toucan. After the visit we came back to our beautiful retreat Samasati,

We enjoy 3 healthy vegan meals AND evening yoga nidra....I've never felt so healthy!

Day 4- Om-Odyssey... Adventurous women ziplining above and thru the canopy jungle of Costa Rica...daredevils we are...we all did the famous Tarzan jump, .similar to bungee jumping! So much fun! Later yoga and 3 delicious vegan meals a day!—

Woman and Youth Center

Day 5- OM-ODYSSEY YOGA RETREAT. Today was a day to give back to this beautiful community, that we are visiting. Ursula raised $500.00 to give to the Peace Thru Yoga Foundations International School for Girls. We visited the school, met the wonderful young girls.learning English and Art from their teacher Patricia. We also had a tasty lunch at the home of one of the girls mother. These young girls impressed me with their desire to learn as these classes are not mandatory. They study by choice and Patricia encourages them by being a great teacher. Of course we practiced yoga 2x and had our other meals at Samasati. The days are going too fast...that's what happens when your having fun!

Indigenous Reserve of Talamanca

Day 6- OM-ODYSSEY Yoga And healthy vegan food AND a visit to the nearby indigenous Bri Bri tribe. AND a visit to the tribes shaman! We learned how chocolate was made .and assisted in making it. We enjoyed a homemade lunch made specially for us by the family we visited. They taught us about past traditions and current life. I'm so impressed at how the Costa Rican people recycle everything that can be recycled and re-purpose everything else...they love the environment and it shows❤️ (I find it so easy to get into a deep sleep at night when everyday is filled with fun and interesting activities and healthy meals!)
